Andy Roddick – a mensch

I seem to have overlooked the strong stance Andy Roddick took when he boycotted the Dubai Tennis Championship after Shahar Pe’er had been denied a visa.

What’s more, he was the defending champion.

His decision is brave and ethical.

    Andy Roddick is more than a mensch. He is a rare hero when everybody else (including Nadal Federer Murray and Djokovic) behaved like cowards, preferring to take their Arab money and run and say nothing to protect one of their own players. They are all a disgrace and could learn something from Roddick on how to be a stand-up man who does what’s right no matter what.
